EMDR Intensive Therapy In Florida & Alabama
Heal from trauma in days, not months of weekly therapy.
Accelerated 1–3 day trauma therapy using EMDR & Brainspotting.
If you're feeling stuck in traditional talk therapy or tired of waiting weeks between sessions to make progress, an EMDR Intensive offers a more focused path to healing.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
EMDR Intensive Therapy is designed to help clients process trauma and emotional distress in a more focused and time-efficient way than traditional weekly sessions. An EMDR Intensive offers:
What Is EMDR Intensive Therapy?
-
Instead of attending standard 50-minute appointments over several months, EMDR Intensives involve extended therapy sessions, typically ranging from 3 to 6 hours per day.
-
Accelerated EMDR therapy is usually completed over the course of 1 to 3 consecutive (or strategically spaced out) days, allowing for uninterrupted trauma processing without week-long gaps between sessions.
-
This structure creates the continuity needed to work through distressing memories, anxiety, burnout, or stress-related symptoms more efficiently than traditional talk therapy.
-
By dedicating focused time to the therapeutic process, many clients are able to make meaningful progress in days, rather than months of ongoing weekly scheduling.

| Weekly Therapy | EMDR Intensive Therapy |
|---|---|
| 50-minute sessions | 3–6 hour extended sessions |

| Gradual pacing | Accelerated therapy format |
| Four weekly sessions per month typically cost $1,000–$1,400 and progress may still take several months | A one-day EMDR intensive is about $2,000 and can replace months of weekly sessions, saving time and long-term cost |

Prior to your scheduled intensive, you’ll complete an intake process that includes a clinical assessment, goal setting, and preparation for trauma processing. This phase is designed to ensure that you feel informed, supported, and ready for the therapeutic work ahead.
-
Your EMDR Intensive will take place over 1 to 3 days, with extended therapy sessions lasting approximately 3 to 6 hours per day. During this time, we’ll focus on processing distressing memories using EMDR therapy and, when appropriate, Brainspotting techniques to support deeper emotional processing.
-
Following your intensive, you’ll receive a personalized integration plan to support continued healing. Additional follow-up sessions may be scheduled as needed to help reinforce progress and support emotional stability.
How an EMDR Intensive Works
EMDR & Brainspotting Intensives
In addition to EMDR therapy, Brainspotting may be incorporated into your intensive therapy when clinically appropriate to support deeper emotional processing.
Focused Processing
Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that uses eye positioning to help access and process experiences that may be held outside of conscious awareness. When integrated into an intensive format, this method can support the release of trauma that may be difficult to address through traditional talk therapy alone.
A Personalized Approach
Each EMDR Intensive is tailored to your individual needs. The integration of Brainspotting allows for greater flexibility in the therapeutic process and supports a more personalized approach to trauma treatment.

EMDR is considered very safe when guided by a trained clinician. The most common side effects are feeling tired, emotional, or having vivid dreams after sessions (a sign your brain is processing). These usually pass within a day or two. We work together to keep you regulated so you never feel “flooded” or out of control.

Yes! EMDR can help reduce the emotional and nervous system activation that often worsens physical symptoms like pain, tension, and fatigue. By processing trauma and lowering stress, many clients with chronic illness notice fewer flare-ups, better sleep, and more energy.

Each intensive session starts with grounding and a quick check-in. Then we identify a memory, belief, or feeling to target. You’ll follow my guidance as we use eye movements, taps, or sounds to process the memory. We pause often to check in and make sure you’re staying regulated.
